Other happenings around town:
🍁 Leaf-Peeping Season Is Peaking: Lindenwood Park and the Sheyenne River Valley are hitting peak fall colors this weekend — bring a thermos of coffee and make a morning of it.
🥧 Fargo’s Fall Food Crawl: Nichole’s Fine Pastry, Sandy’s Donuts, and Black Coffee & Waffle Bar are all rolling out limited-time autumn treats. A perfect indoor plan if Saturday storms roll through.
🪵 DIY Weekend Project: Temps are still warm enough to tackle a quick garage or yard project before the weather turns — seal decks, swap out garden hoses, or reorganize your mudroom.
🌽 Family Pick: Harvest Fest at Red River Zoo (Sat 10 AM–2 PM): Petting zoo, hayrides, crafts, and pumpkins. Just plan around the afternoon storms.
🍂 Trail Pick: If you want one last warm-weather ride or hike, hit Orchard Glen Park Friday afternoon before the rain arrives — trails are dry and leaves are just starting to fall.
🧥 Seasonal Prep Tip: Pull out your cold-weather gear this weekend. A 20°+ temp swing is coming next week, and you’ll be glad you’re ready.

PRAIRIE SPOTLIGHT
👋 Thanks for being here. This is the very first edition of Prairie Local, and I’m glad you’re part of it. Each week this section will highlight unique local finds, seasonal tips, and stories worth knowing — but for now, I just want to say thanks for reading and sticking with me as this grows.
🍂 Seasonal Snapshot: Peak fall color is arriving fast across eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota. A short drive down the Sheyenne Scenic Byway this weekend is one of the best ways to see it before the wind and rain knock leaves down.
